Colleen assists lawyers and law firms with: 

  • Business Law:
    • A broad range of corporate/commercial legal matters, including corporate formation and structuring; drafting standard business contracts; corporate borrowing and debt restructuring; mergers and acquisitions; transaction management; and advising on general corporate governance issues and agreements.
    • Banking and financing legal matters, including conducting due diligence for lenders and/or investors; drafting and reviewing credit facility documentation; finalizing and perfecting loan and securitization documents.

    • Advising Canadian and International clients on privacy and data protection compliance and enforcement matters.

    • All Canadian immigration programs, including consulting and guiding individuals on immigration pathways; preparing the relevant immigration application; advising businesses and stakeholders on business and/or investor immigration options (LMIAs, Work Permits, Visas, etc.) 
  • Drafting, reviewing, commenting, and opining on legal contracts.
  • Conducting general legal research and rendering legal opinions.

Experience:

Colleen is a cross-jurisdictional lawyer, licensed to practice law in Ontario and Jamaica.

She has experience in handling a variety of complex corporate/commercial legal matters, with a high orientation to the client’s goal achievement and satisfaction. Over the decade, Colleen has had the privilege of working on matters that span the globe and alongside diverse individuals. She is extremely meticulous and passion-driven with extensive ability to work remotely, with or without collaboration. For example, she has worked on regional syndicated facilities on a number of occasions, with team members in 5 different countries. She has provided legal advice and acted as general counsel on a broad range of legal issues. Additionally, she has advised several financial institutions and represented them in general contract matters, securitization, debt restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions. Likewise, Colleen has represented a number of corporate and business clients from start-ups to IPOs.

Her experience also encompasses Canadian Immigration, wherein her practice currently includes all levels of immigration legal services to both businesses and individuals and advising Canadian and International clients on privacy and data protection compliance and enforcement.
