Dilani assists lawyers and law firms with: 

Small Claims Court

  • Conducting in depth legal research for precedents (case law and decisions) to evaluate relevance to the current matter to strategize best defence and assessing merits of the case;
  • Filing claims, assemble documents and evidence, prepare clients and witnesses for appearance in court and represent clients in court;
  • Engaging in preparing, reviewing, processing, all pleadings, applications with the court such as claims, responses, affidavits, and civil enforcements.

Tribunal Cases

  • Preparing legal documents, providing advice and representing individuals in matters before a tribunal, such as:
  • A dispute between landlord and tenant at the Landlord and Tenant Board, completed Case Reviews to determine merit on Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) Files for LTB hearings, prepared all types of Tenant/Landlord forms such as N4, N12 etc. and LTB applications such as L1, L2, Certificate of Service etc.
  • Preparing applications for the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, or documents related to a denial of social assistance benefits at the Social Benefits Tribunal.

Experience:

Dilani is a licensed paralegal who is passionate in advocating for her clients through demonstrated success, experience, and education. She is a recent MBA graduate (University of Fredericton N.B.) currently studying for her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program in the aim of becoming a practicing lawyer in Ontario which would further assist her in acquiring expert advocacy skills in representing clients efficiently.

She has gained valuable legal knowledge and experience by advocating for clients with successful outcomes related to Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) and Small Claim Court and WSIB matters. Her strength is in legal research for precedents (case law and decisions) to strategize the best defence after assessing merits of the case.
