About

Ellen assists lawyers and law firms with:

Legal writing and research: factums, briefs, opinions, memoranda. Litigation support.

Experience:

Ellen has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer in Alberta, British
Columbia and Ontario.  She started her career at what is now Denton’s and has extensive experience providing litigation assistance to boutique litigation firms, small firms and sole practitioners across BC, Alberta and Ontario.  She can provide insight into how judges make decisions, gained while articling with the Alberta Court of Appeal and Queen’s Bench, and acting as Legal Counsel to the Queen Bench.

Ellen has a strong academic background, graduating fourth in her class from UBC Law and earning several academic scholarships throughout her years of law school.  She brings to each file a quick understanding and willingness to push back, earning her the moniker “the throbbing brain” from a client specializing in commercial litigation.  She is at her best when she is asked to jump in and strategize alongside another lawyer, bringing a fresh perspective to the file.
